Chester Marathon
On Sunday I did the Chester Marathon, which was hard work but generally good fun.
Nervously waiting at the start.
Needing the toilet although I'd just gone.
Chatting to Pat for the first 15km.
Great support - names on numbers helped.
Eating flap-jack and it seeming to work out well.
Meeting and conversing with interesting people.
Finding the course to not be very flat at all!
Running with the two guys for most of the last 10km
Beating my best expected time.
Having absolutely no energy left at the end.
Waddling - having the same walk as another runner.
A hot shower. So good.
Gels - not tasty but seeming to be effective
The last 6/7 km being so very hard. Like running through treacle. Having to consistently fight to stop the temptation to walk.
Talking to and meeting interesting people all the way around.
Lady with dates on her t-shirt. Pancreatic cancer. The impact and why I'm running it.
Run forest Run.
